Are you interested in sustainability?
Do you want to find out how businesses can transition to carbon neutrality and how best to market the benefits of doing so?
Do you have a desire to create new knowledge?
If you answered yes, a Masters by Research scholarship is currently available for a highly qualified domestic candidate to work on a research project in the area of low carbon living. The project will focus on the business case for organisations achieving carbon neutral status. The research will explore the direct and indirect costs and benefits associated with changing business practices, physical and social infrastructure to achieve carbon neutrality, it considers how to communicate the journey and undertake the required monitoring and documentation to achieve certification. The research will also explore the value gained by the case study organisation through recognition as a carbon neutral organisation, and the potential additional knowledge development opportunities associated with green technologies, practices and experiences.
In the context of the Carbon Neutral Adelaide policy, the Government of South Australia and the Adelaide City Council are interested to support the CRC for Low Carbon Living to conduct high quality research exploring the business case for organisations achieving carbon neutral status. Utilising the experiences of Uniting Communities, which has recently been certified carbon neutral, and the Adelaide City Council, which is significantly along the journey to certification, the research would establish the business case for the University of South Australia to achieve carbon neutral status according to the National Carbon Offset Standard Carbon Neutral Program of the Australian Government Guidelines. The research topic is expected to cover multiple discipline areas including marketing, and management or economics. The primary discipline is marketing therefore candidates are required to have a background in marketing to be eligible to apply.
This opportunity is based at the University of South Australia Business School.
